The Academic Portfolio Template | The Atom Studio

Not every project needs a bespoke, ground-up build — sometimes the right answer is a sharp, well-made template, priced for a student or early-career researcher rather than an enterprise budget.

The Brief

Academic portfolios usually fall into two camps: a bare university profile page, or an overbuilt personal site nobody has time to maintain. Neither shows off actual research.

What We Built

• A static, mobile-first index page that loads instantly and needs no backend to maintain.
• Publication highlights and citation tools built for how researchers get referenced.
• A brutalist, no-nonsense contact flow instead of a buried mailto link.

Under the Hood

Built in plain HTML5, vanilla CSS, and vanilla JS — no framework at all, because a portfolio like this should still work perfectly in ten years without a dependency update.

It's our Academic tier at its most literal: real design thinking, priced for people just starting out.
